What are Regulatory Bodies?
A regulatory body(also known as Regulatory Agency) is a public authority/government agency that is responsible for controlling some areas of human activities. so essentially managing the things some people do. Regulatory bodies are mainly set up to enforce health and safety standards, and to protect consumers within the market. Regulatory Bodies include charities, education boards, law companies and environmental companies.

Some examples are:

  • Ofsted (Educational)
  • Charity Commission for England and Wales (Charity)
  • Northern Ireland Environment Agency (environmental)
  • Financial Conduct Agency (Financial)
  • NHS Improvement (Healthcare)
  • Faculty of Advocates (Law)
